Job Overview
Clatfords Village Store is seeking a friendly and outgoing Sunday shop assistant (aged 18 or over) to open, man and close our delightful community owned village shop in Goodworth Clatford each Sunday (or possibly on a rota basis). No prior experience is needed as full training will be provided. The hours are currently 7:30 to 1:30, and there would also be the possibility of occasional Saturday shifts.

Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Provide product information and recommend items based on customer needs, including upselling where appropriate
- Maintain the organisation and visual merchandising of the shop, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Restock shelves and manage stock levels efficiently to ensure availability of products
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Support opening and closing procedures as required
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact confidently with customers and team members.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within designated timeframes.
- Excellent phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries over the phone.
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales opportunities.
- Organised approach with attention to detail to maintain high standards of presentation and service quality.
Pay: £90.00 per day
