PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Driver & Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our showroom and installation teams.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines driving, warehouse management, customer service, and installation support. You will be responsible for receiving and checking deliveries, transporting materials to customers' homes, assisting installation teams, and helping to ensure every customer receives exceptional experience throughout their kitchen transformation journey.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in delivering excellent service, and be willing to support with general duties in the showroom if required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving goods against purchase orders, inspecting materials for any damage, and reporting issues promptly to facilitate timely reordering when required.
- Ensuring all products and ancillary items are accurately picked in line with each customer's survey specification and fitter's pack requirements.
- Loading and unloading materials into and from the delivery van and safely transporting them into customers' homes on the day of installation.
- Collecting and disposing of waste from completed installations.
- Putting out A-board signs and assisting with leafleting in and around the vicinity of the customers premises.
- Collecting materials and sundries from wholesalers as required.
- Assisting fitter with fits e.g., lifting worktops, preparing doors with hinges and handles etc.
- Liaising with customers in their homes, supporting the installation process and ensuring a seamless and positive customer journey.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area by thoroughly cleaning customers’ kitchens following installation, including dust removal, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
- Carrying out general showroom and warehouse duties as required, including stock checks, stock replenishment, and ensuring both the showroom and stockroom are maintained to a high standard.
- Working as a part of a small team, helping in all departments as business dictates.
- Manual handing, in line with manual handling guidelines.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
EXPERIENCE:
· Previous similar experience advantageous.
· Basic DIY knowledge and confidence using hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers and drills.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:
· IT literate (Microsoft Office/CRM)
· Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record.
· Driving experience (ideally utilising a long wheelbase van)
· Excellent communication skills and customer service knowledge
· Ability to work independently, identify challenges and be solution focused.
