Due to a recent internal move at our Aberdeen Branch, we are now recruiting for an Embroidery Decorative Operative on a full-time basis.
The Embroidery Decorative Operative is a key part of our Branch operation, allowing us to supply customers local to Aberdeen with decorated garments for their employees to use by operating our Barudan Embroidery machine, Heatseal machine and Brother Sewing machine. There will also be a small amount of warehousing responsibilities as part of the role such as picking, packing and stock checks.
This role is a full-time position for 37.5 hours a week from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating embroidery, heatseal and sewing machines including loading electronic work files
- Framing garments and selecting the correct colour cottons for production runs in line with technical specifications
- Completing samples and comparing them to customer art and file samples
- Conducting during-run checks and quality control management to ensure consistency and removal of errors
- Proactively maintaining and upkeeping all equipment and reporting any problems to our management team
- Completing heat seal of garments
- Using sewing machines to alter garments, ensuring sufficient threads and other consumables are available to ensure completion of daily embroidery jobs
- Ensuring health and safety procedures and storing compliance are adhered to under the guidance of the Sales and Operations Manager
- Ensuring the working area is always maintained, kept clean and tidy and effective waste control of excess consumables

The ideal Embroidery Decorative Operative will be/have:
- The ability to work as part of a team
- A high level of attention to detail
- Punctual and dependable
- Excellent communication skills
- Good working knowledge of IT systems, SAP, Microsoft Office packages – Excel and Word (desirable)
- The ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage daily/weekly workload to achieve required service levels
