Prestige Granite & Marble Ltd is looking for an experienced and technology-confident Accounts & Finance Coordinator to join our team in Knowsley, Liverpool.
This is a hands-on, in-house position working alongside our existing accountant, company directors and operational teams.
The successful candidate will help manage our day-to-day financial administration, strengthen internal controls and improve our reporting and forecasting. We are also exploring new accounting and reporting systems, so you must be capable of supporting, implementing and managing any approved changes.
Key responsibilities
- Check financial transactions against the correct customer and job ID
- Review and reconcile Clover card transactions, refunds and settlements
- Cross-reference customer payments against invoices and internal records
- Match supplier invoices, receipts, purchase orders and supporting paperwork
- Identify and investigate missing receipts, duplicated transactions and incorrect allocations
- Process and check supplier invoices and bills
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, company cards and business expenses
- Ensure customer payments and job costs are recorded accurately
- Work closely with our existing accountant
- Produce clear weekly and monthly financial reports
- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and expenditure analysis
- Create management reports highlighting trends, costs, discrepancies and potential issues
- Improve how financial information is collected, recorded, stored and shared
- Help reduce unnecessary paperwork and duplicated administration
- Review and recommend improvements to existing financial processes
- Support and manage the implementation of approved accounting and reporting systems
- Document financial procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Communicate with suppliers, colleagues and management to resolve financial queries
Skills and experience
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration or a similar finance role
- Experience using Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or other recognised accounting software
- Experience reviewing and reconciling Clover transactions, settlements and refunds
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- Experience managing purchase ledgers, reconciliations and payment preparation
- A good understanding of budgeting, cash flow and financial forecasting
- Confidence using technology and learning new systems
- Experience supporting or managing the implementation of new financial systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to recommend practical improvements
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
- The ability to work effectively with an existing accountant, directors and operational departments
An AAT qualification or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous. Experience within manufacturing, construction or another job-costing environment would also be beneficial.
Hours and location
- 21 hours across three full days per week
- Permanent, part-time position
- Based at our Knowsley, Liverpool office
- Fully office-based with no remote or hybrid working
- Working days can be agreed, but consistency will be required
