Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care (CQC)
Location: Office based in Greenfield, Oldham with services covering Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £42,000–£52,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Company Car + Benefits + Performance Bonus Opportunities
About My Ability
My Ability is a fast-growing, values-led disability support provider delivering high-quality community support across Greater Manchester. We support children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex needs to live independent, fulfilling lives.
Having built an excellent reputation as an independent support provider, we're now taking the next exciting step by registering with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide regulated domiciliary care services.
We're looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead us through this transition and become the long-term Registered Manager of our expanding service.
Role Overview
As Registered Manager, you will lead My Ability through the CQC registration process and take overall responsibility for the safe, effective and compliant delivery of our domiciliary care service across Greater Manchester. Working alongside our Directors and management team, you will oversee quality, compliance, staff leadership and service development, ensuring outstanding person-centred care while driving the organisation through its next stage of growth.
This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a service from strong foundations within a supportive, ambitious and expanding provider.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager who wants to build something exceptional rather than inherit a struggling service.
You will lead our CQC registration process, ensuring we meet all regulatory requirements before continuing to oversee the service as our Registered Manager once registration has been achieved.
Working alongside our Directors and existing management team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the organisation while maintaining the highest standards of care, compliance and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead My Ability through the CQC registration process.
- Become the Registered Manager upon successful registration.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards.
- Lead, mentor and develop the management and care teams.
- Oversee safeguarding, incidents, complaints and quality assurance.
- Review and develop policies, procedures and governance systems.
- Prepare for and lead future CQC inspections.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with commissioners, Local Authorities, healthcare professionals and families.
- Support the continued growth and development of the organisation.
- Promote a positive, person-centred culture across the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards throughout the service.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated domiciliary care service.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards, safeguarding, MCA, DoLS and current legislation.
- Proven experience in maintaining compliance and preparing for or leading CQC inspections.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Knowledge and experience of managing a CQC-regulated domiciliary care service are essential.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for delivering outstanding care.
- Leads by example and inspires those around them.
- Is proactive, organised and solutions-focused.
- Wants to build a long-term career within a growing organisation.
- Thrives in a growing business and enjoys developing services.
- Takes pride in developing high-performing teams and maintaining exceptional standards.
What We Offer
- £42,000–£52,000 salary (dependent on experience).
- Company car.
- Performance bonus opportunities.
- Company pension.
- Flexible working, including work-from-home opportunities where operationally appropriate.
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), with an extended holiday entitlement programme recognising long service.
- Ongoing professional development and funded training.
- Discounted food and drinks at Alora Coffee.
- A supportive ownership team who genuinely value your expertise.
- A small, experienced management team already in place to support you—you won't be starting from scratch.
- The opportunity to shape the future of an ambitious organisation.
- Genuine long-term career progression as My Ability continues to grow.
Why Join My Ability?
This isn't a turnaround role.
You'll be joining a well-established, compliant and respected provider with strong systems, supportive owners and an experienced management team already in place. The foundations have already been built—we're simply looking for the right Registered Manager to lead us through CQC registration and continue driving the service forward.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, the backing of approachable Directors who understand the sector, and the opportunity to build an Outstanding-rated service from the very beginning.
