Deputy Nursery Manager – Reading, Berkshire (Please note a driver is required for this role)
Salary: £31,200–£37,570 per year / Up to £17.00 per hour (depending on experience, qualifications and age)
Hours: 40 or 42.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Shifts between 7:30am–6:30pm
Contract: Permanent, all year round
Please note: A driver is required due to the rural location and limited public transport. We cannot accommodate term-time or school-hours working.
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join our beautiful countryside nursery in Reading, Berkshire.
Surrounded by meadows and forest school areas, our nursery provides children with the opportunity to learn, explore, and thrive through nature-based learning. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our leadership team, supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery while helping to maintain outstanding care and education. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Room Leader/Third in Charge looking to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new challenge.

Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager and oversee the setting in their absence
- Help lead the nursery team and maintain high standards of care and education
- Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive practice throughout the nursery
About You
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)
- Previous Deputy Manager or similar leadership experience
- Passionate about outdoor learning and child development
- Friendly, supportive, and an excellent team player
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Eligible to work in the UK
