The Park
Set within the leafy surroundings of Mortonhall Estate, our award-winning caravan and camping park is one of Edinburgh’s leading tourism destinations, having achieved multiple Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence awards.
Operating all year round, the park offers touring and camping pitches alongside holiday accommodation including Wigwams, shepherd huts and holiday homes. We welcome guests from across the UK and internationally, delivering a high-quality visitor experience within a fast-paced hospitality and tourism environment.
Key responsibilities
- Daily income reconciliation — reconcile all daily takings across cash, card and online channels against the booking and till systems, investigating and resolving any discrepancies before sign-off.
- Payment reconciliation — match incoming and outgoing payments to the relevant accounts, flagging shortfalls, overpayments or unallocated transactions.
- Invoicing — raise, issue and track customer and supplier invoices accurately and on time, and follow up on outstanding items.
- Liaising with the Accounts department — act as the day-to-day link with central Accounts, supplying reconciled figures, supporting documentation and answering queries promptly.
- Email and correspondence — manage the administrative inbox, responding to enquiries and internal requests professionally and within agreed timeframes.
- Placing orders — raise purchase orders for stock, supplies and services, ensuring goods are ordered against the correct budget and deliveries are checked off.
- Park occupancy reporting — produce accurate daily, weekly and periodic occupancy reports for management, highlighting trends and variances.
- General administrative support to the wider park team as required
About you
Essential
- Strong numeracy and confident working with figures, reconciliations and basic accounts.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet recurring deadlines.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and comfortable learning booking/EPOS and finance systems.
- Clear written communication for professional email correspondence.
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to handle cash and financial data responsibly.
Desirable
- Previous administration, bookkeeping or finance experience.
- Experience within hospitality, leisure, holiday parks or a similar customer-facing operation.
- Familiarity with purchase ordering and supplier liaison.
