Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and help with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Support patients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Transport clients safely to appointments, errands, or social outings using personal or agency vehicles
- Monitor health status, report changes or concerns to healthcare providers or family members
- Practice behavior management techniques to support clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive challenges
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice care, and senior care best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for transportation duties
- First aid certification and CPR training for emergency response preparedness
