Libby's Bread & Wine – Marple Bridge
Up to £33,800 per year + Performance Bonus
This isn't just another kitchen job. Over the last few years we've grown into one of the area's favourite independent bakery, café and bars, and we're only just getting started.
As we continue to invest in our people and our business, we're looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager who wants to be part of the journey.
If you're ambitious, love fresh food and want to work somewhere that genuinely supports your development, we'd love to meet you.
You'll work directly alongside our Head Chef, helping lead one of the busiest fresh-food kitchens in the area.
This is a genuine leadership position where you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, lead a great team and build a long-term career with a growing independent hospitality group.
If your ambition is to become a Head Chef one day, we'll help you get there.
Before You Apply...
We know applying for jobs takes time, and we genuinely appreciate every single application.
If we invite you to interview, we'll make time in our diaries to meet you properly. All we ask in return is that you only apply if you're genuinely interested in joining our team and can attend an interview if shortlisted.
We believe that's a fair starting point for both of us.
By day we're known for artisan baking, speciality coffee and one of the area's favourite brunch menus.
By night we transform into a relaxed neighbourhood wine bar serving pizzas, seasonal small plates and great wine.
Everything we produce is made with care, and we're proud of the standards we've built.
Now we're looking for someone who wants to help us raise them even further.
Working alongside our Head Chef you'll help lead the kitchen every day.
That means:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of service
- Leading the kitchen when the Head Chef is away
- Cooking fresh food to consistently high standards
- Organising prep and service
- Supporting stock control and ordering
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Coaching junior chefs
- Helping create a calm, organised and positive kitchen
- Following and maintaining our recipes, specifications and systems
You could already be an Assistant Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef.
You could be a Kitchen Supervisor or Junior Sous ready for more responsibility.
What matters most is that you:
- Love fresh food
- Care about quality
- Enjoy leading people
- Stay calm under pressure
- Take pride in your work
- Want to keep learning
- Want to build a career, not just find another job
We believe that if we want brilliant people, we need to give them a brilliant place to work.
That's why we offer:
Work-Life Balance
- Only three evening shifts each week
- Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off every year
- A leadership team that understands life exists outside work
Your Wellbeing
- Discounted membership at Strength & Performance Gym
- Free meals on shift
- Unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks while you're working
Your Career
- Performance-related bonus
- Ongoing training and development
- Genuine opportunities to progress as our group grows
- Work alongside experienced leaders who enjoy developing people
- Opportunities to be involved with new menus, new concepts and future projects
You'll be joining a business that believes great hospitality starts with looking after its own people.
We work hard, support each other and celebrate success together.
