Chef (NJE GR 3) – Catering & Hospitality
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri, 08:15 – 15:15
Contract: 8 Weeks, Temporary (with the possibility of extension)
We're recruiting a Chef to support Nottinghamshire County Council's Children, Young People, Staff and visitors. This is a key catering role, ideal for someone reliable, organised, and confident working in a busy day service environment.
About the Role
As a Chef, you'll provide essential catering support to ensure the smooth running of meals and hospitality services.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing, cooking, and serving meals to service users and staff
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
- Managing kitchen stock, supplies, and equipment
- Supporting colleagues with day-to-day catering tasks
- Maintaining accurate records in line with health and safety requirements
- Assisting with menu planning and dietary needs where required
Requirements
We're looking for someone dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a catering environment.
You'll Ideally Have
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality roles
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good attention to detail and commitment to food hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A professional approach and good communication skills
