Stock Controller – Full Time/Permanent
We require an experienced Stock Controller to help us maintain accurate inventory information to buy more effectively and ensure we have the right products and materials available at the right time.
About us
Based in Essex, AIRTEC Motorsport started out producing a range of car accessories in the 1990s. By 2002, it was developing its own range of performance-enhancing products and solutions, and over the next 24 years the brand evolved into one of the leading performance parts manufacturers in the UK, developing over 1,000 specific products for 25 car brands. A thriving business, we currently employ 25 workers at our 19,000+sq ft premises in Canvey Island, Essex.
About the position
The successful candidate will work closely with our development, production, warehouse and management departments to maintain and potentially improve our stock control, inventory planning, ordering and in-bound delivery processes and operations.
This would include reporting and booking stock onto the system, inputting purchase orders as well as systematically ensuring the warehouse is well-organised, accessible and maintained with a high-level of housekeeping.
The successful candidate will also play an important role in potentially developing systems to work more efficiently and effectively across the business.
A full-time, permanent position, the hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, including a 30-minute lunch break.
Our requirements
· Previous experience of inventory/stock management systems
· Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
· Strong commitment to maintaining accurate records
· Displays excellent numerical and analytical skills
· Good communication and ability to prioritise demands
· A proactive approach to identifying problems and solutions
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
· Comfortable working in what can be a hands-on role at times
Duties and responsibilities
· Produce clear stock and supplier reports for management
· Regularly review minimum stock levels, reorder points, lead times and order quantities
· Identify slow-moving, obsolete or excess stock and recommend appropriate action
· Maintain clear records of outstanding purchase orders and expected delivery dates
· Ensure deliveries are checked and booked into the system accurately
· Investigate shortages, damaged goods and incorrect deliveries
· Complete stocktakes when required and investigate discrepancies
· Oversee/manage the warehouse delivery team during large deliveries
· Occasionally carry out a hands-on role involving lifting, moving, and handling stock
· Help develop and improve the company’s stock-control and production-planning systems
