We are an independent, family-run gastropub with serious ambition. Built on strong values, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to exceptional food, we are now focused on achieving AA Rosette status and we are looking for a talented, driven Sous Chef to help us get there.
This is an opportunity for a chef who wants more than just a job. We are building something special: refined yet approachable dishes, seasonal British produce at its best, and a kitchen culture built on pride, discipline, and creativity.
The Role As Sous Chef, you will work closely alongside the Head Chef to shape, refine, and execute a menu worthy of Rosette recognition. You will be instrumental in driving standards, mentoring the team, and ensuring every plate leaving the pass reflects precision and consistency.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on high standards and wants to be part of an ambitious journey.

- Supporting the Head Chef in delivering Rosette-level food standards daily.
- Driving consistency, attention to detail, and presentation across all services.
- Contributing creatively to menu development using seasonal, quality-led ingredients.
- Training, mentoring, and inspiring junior chefs.
- Managing stock control, GP performance, and kitchen organisation.
- Maintaining exemplary hygiene and food safety standards.
- Leading the kitchen confidently in the Head Chef’s absence.
About You
- A strong Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous ready to step up.
- Background in quality fresh-food kitchens (Rosette experience advantageous but not essential).
- Passion for refined British cuisine and modern gastropub dining.
- High personal standards and strong attention to detail.
- Calm, professional leadership style.
- Ambition and pride in achieving recognition for your work.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary per annum, 45-hour working week.
- Gratuities averaging from £80 per week.
- A genuine opportunity to help achieve AA Rosette status.
- Creative input into menu development.
- A supportive, family-run environment with clear ambition.
- The chance to be part of a team building something exceptional.
If you are driven, disciplined, and motivated by achieving industry recognition, we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV along with a short cover note outlining your experience and why you would be the right fit for this next chapter in our journey.
