Role Summary
Deliver friendly, efficient bar service, maintain a clean and safe environment, and create a great guest experience that drives repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests, take orders, and serve drinks and snacks in line with venue standards.
- Prepare and present beverages (beer, wine, spirits, basic cocktails/coffee as applicable).
- Operate POS, handle cash/card payments, and balance till accurately.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible service practices.
- Maintain bar cleanliness: stock rotation, glassware polishing, wiping surfaces, cleaning lines (as trained), and waste management.
- Restock fridges, garnishes, ice, and disposables; complete opening/closing checklists.
- Comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards; report hazards and incidents.
- Support floor service during busy periods and collaborate with the team and kitchen.
- Upsell and recommend products; communicate specials and promotions.
- Assist with deliveries, cellar work, and inventory counts as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Previous bar, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
- Confident drinks knowledge (beer/wine/spirits; cocktails a plus) and willingness to learn.
- Strong communication, numeracy, and cash-handling accuracy.
- Calm under pressure with excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move stock (up to [X] kg).
