We are seeking a dedicated Roofer/ Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on residential and commercial properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while developing technical skills in a fast-growing industry. The position involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure efficient and safe installation processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare installation sites by assessing the area and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Install mounting systems, panels, wiring, and electrical components according to technical specifications and plans
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators when necessary
- Perform welding tasks for secure mounting and structural integrity where required
- Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performance
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations throughout the installation process
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use
Experience
- Proven experience with electrical systems or mechanical installations is highly desirable
- Familiarity with excavator operation, welding techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools is advantageous
- Knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical wiring, or renewable energy projects is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Previous experience in construction or outdoor installation work is beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience will support successful adaptation to various project requirements
