Purpose of the Role
The Community Health Engagement Facilitator will:
Deliver 6 community-led engagement activities with unpaid carers
- Build trusted relationships with underrepresented communities
- Facilitate safe and inclusive conversations around health inequalities and access to support
- Gather and share insight to influence service design and development
- Strengthen links between Trafford Carers Centre, local communities and partner organisations
The role will act as a bridge between carers, community organisations and health and care partners, ensuring lived experience helps shape future support and services.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Plan and deliver a minimum of 6 engagement activities per year, including focus groups, workshops, informal discussions and community conversations
- Engage proactively with carers from underrepresented communities, including ethnically diverse and LGBTQ+ carers
- Build positive relationships with local community organisations, faith groups and voluntary sector partners
- Work collaboratively with Trafford Carers Centre staff to maximise engagement opportunities across existing activities and events
- Create safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive environments for engagement
- Support carers to share their experiences, ideas and feedback in ways that feel accessible and meaningful
Co-production & Insight Gathering
- Facilitate discussions and engagement activities to gather lived experience and community insight
- Capture key themes, feedback and emerging issues from engagement activity
- Support carers to identify gaps in services and contribute ideas for improvement
- Contribute to the development of inclusive and community-led approaches to engagement
Partnership Working & Systems Influence
- Work collaboratively with Trafford Carers Centre staff and external partners
- Develop links with organisations supporting ethnically diverse and LGBTQ+ communities
- Attend relevant meetings, partnership discussions and engagement network events as agreed
- Advocate for the voices and experiences of unpaid carers within local systems and services
Monitoring, Reporting & Learning
- Maintain accurate records of engagement activity and participation
- Contribute to brief reports, case studies and shared learning activity
- Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative feedback
Participate in quarterly review and planning discussions with Trafford Carers Centre
Pay: £19.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
