Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Timber Joist Press Manufacturer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the fabrication and assembly of timber joists, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation of durable and precise timber components used in construction projects. Prior experience in carpentry or joinery is advantageous, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the timber manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery involved in pressing and shaping timber joists with precision and care
- Assemble timber components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet specified standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during production processes
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate lifting techniques
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Requirements
- Experience or familiarity with fabrication, assembly, or carpentry is desirable
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques
- Knowledge of roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, or construction painting is a plus but not essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn new skills within timber manufacturing processes
- Previous experience in construction-related roles such as roofing or masonry is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £24,420.00-£31,000.00 per year
