Job Description
An exciting opportunity to join the organisation as a Trainee Workshop Service/Field Engineer. The role will report to the Engineering Manager and the Development Engineer whilst working within a team of Senior Workshop/Field Engineers.
What We Give
The training will be for a minimum 12-month period during which time you will be fully trained on the operation, maintenance and repair of all equipment and software operated by the company. All this will be done within the procedures and methods as defined by the companies ISO 9001:2015 accredited Integrated Management System (IMS).
What We Ask
Applicants are required to have some level of engineering/science-based qualifications and a willingness to learn.
Electronics and Electrical background preferred.
Basic IT knowledge, e.g. Windows Operating Systems, IP based systems and networking principles.
Previous experience of MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel and some understanding of ISO9001 would be advantageous.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
Being courteous, punctual, reliable, respectful and polite.
Have a good head for heights.
Training will include
- Equipment preparation for upcoming projects.
- Checking, maintenance and if required, repair of returning equipment.
- Test and calibration
- Service of products in order to ensure optimum performance.
- Training under the supervision of Senior Engineers in the operation of all owned and hired in equipment.
- Data entry and record keeping within an electronic asset tracking and status database.
- Operating within the rules and guidelines covering all relevant aspects of Health and Safety at Work and maintaining the highest standards of safety.
- Assistance at vessel mobilisations off-site within the UK.
- On successful completion of training you will be required to work offshore on various client’s offshore vessels and will be expected to complete and pass all mandatory training courses, offshore sea survival training and offshore medicals.
To be considered for this exciting role you must be able to: -
Demonstrate some interest in working in a field service and workshop capacity within an electronics equipment background.
This role would suit someone currently in college or have recently completed their course however all candidates will be considered.
You will need: -
Be travelling distance of the Great Yarmouth base on a daily basis,
To be a self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude, be able to work with limited supervision on a daily basis and able to demonstrate tenacity when faced with difficult situations or challenges

Salary – Dependant on experience + sea pay once training is completed and working offshore – permanent contract.
