Purpose of the role
To promote and facilitate the continual improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental performance within Park Cakes Bolton. Proactively work to achieve a safe working environment through an effective programme of proactive monitoring, auditing, training, and management of legislative requirements, whilst ensuring effective and strong communication with all employees.
Skills, qualifications & behaviours required:
Essential
- Experience and/or understanding of UK health & safety
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
- Good level of written & spoken English language
- Methodical & organised in planning workload and completing tasks
- Be respectful of all colleagues across the business
- Ability to be proactive with a continuous improvement (CI) mindset
- Take accountability for actions
- Experienced in use of MS software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
Desirable
- NEBOSH Certificate (or agree to complete & pass qualification with 12 months)
- Experience in food manufacturing
- Good awareness of GMP
- Have a coaching & supportive mindset
- Ability to analyse and communicate
Key duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Actively promoting a positive health & safety culture across site.
- Assisting with the day-to-day running and continual improvement of health & safety by providing any necessary advice or support to all who require it.
- Leading on environmental matters including waste & water; ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
- Leading on Toolbox talks; the creation of and management of rolling out.
- Analysing and communicating findings from I-site.
- Analysing and communicating findings from pre-start checks.
- Ensuring the car park, perimeter & security is managed to an acceptable standard.
- Ensuring the completion of health & safety audits.
- Ensuring the completion of risk assessments as required.
- Ensuring the completion of safe operating procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Create and deliver any briefings/training as required.
- Assist with the issuing of Permit to Works & management of contractors.
- Drive & audit our Safety Conversation programme.
- Assist teams with dynamic risk assessment support where necessary.
- Attend any health & safety meetings as required.
Pay: £28,000.00-£29,525.00 per year
