Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Relief Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for 14 elderly residents, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your culinary skills while providing vital support to our kitchen operations. Flexibility is key, as the Relief Cook will cover shifts as needed, maintaining continuity of service and meal preparation.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of meals according to established menus
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
- Support the team during busy periods by stepping into cooking roles as required
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety standards
- Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Previous experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work flexibly including weekends if required
