We’re a new concept with big plans, and we’re looking for an ambitious, energetic Manager to help lead the venue, build an incredible team, and make Social by Matto one of Edinburgh’s go-to spots.

The Role
As Manager, you’ll be at the heart of Social by Matto, taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the venue and making sure everything - from the food and drinks to the team and atmosphere - is running at its best.
You’ll lead from the front, inspire your team, look after our guests, and help drive the business forward as we grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and bar
- Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team
- Creating a fun, positive, and high-energy working environment
- Delivering exceptional service and making sure every guest has a great experience
- Managing shifts, rotas, staffing levels, and team performance
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development
- Maintaining consistently high standards across food, drinks, service, cleanliness, and presentation
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to keep service running smoothly
- Managing stock, wastage, ordering, and operational costs
- Helping drive sales and achieve financial targets
- Taking responsibility for cash handling, opening/closing procedures, and health & safety
- Dealing confidently with guest feedback and resolving issues quickly and professionally
- Supporting events, promotions, and new initiatives that bring people through the door
- Working closely with senior management to develop and grow the Social by Matto concept
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, personality, and genuine passion for hospitality.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous management or senior supervisory experience in a busy restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- A genuine passion for food, drinks, and great hospitality
- The confidence to take ownership and make decisions during busy service
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commercial mindset with an understanding of sales, labour, stock, and costs
- The ability to stay calm, positive, and solution-focused under pressure
- A hands-on approach - you’re not afraid to jump in wherever the team needs you
- A natural ability to motivate people and bring out the best in your team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy periods
