About the role
R&D is responsible for researching, developing and supporting the technology on the company’s technology roadmap. We work closely with Technical Support and Sales to maintain that roadmap, and to understand customer requirements and we work closely with Operations to hand technology over to production.
Duties will include;
· Responsible for the technical performance of assigned projects and products.
· Responsible for managing the configuration baselines of assigned projects and products.
· Co-ordination of internal and external engineering resources across development projects.
· Participation in the hands-on development of products as required.
· Production of requirements specifications in-line with customer and product needs.
· Production and management of development schedules/Kanban boards.
· Providing a management interface between the R&D department and its stakeholders including external suppliers, consultants, Technical Support and CEMs.
· Recruitment and line management of assigned members of engineering staff.
· Supporting the development of company procedures.
· Deputising for the R&D Director.
About you
You will be able to;
· Demonstrate an engineering background with hands-on experience of systems and electronics/software development.
· Prove previous experience of managing and delivering R&D projects.
· Drive forward with energy, flexibility, enthusiasm, persistence and commitment.
· Prove your motivation to succeed and make a difference whilst performing in a pressured environment
· Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication; experience of authoring requirements, design and test plans and specifications.
· Be Highly self-motivated individual with good attention to detail.
