This ST4+ Equivalent Trust Doctor in Paediatrics post at Yeovil District Hospital, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is a registrar-level opportunity for doctors seeking to further develop their experience in acute paediatrics and neonatology within a supportive NHS environment.
Working Hours and Pattern
Full time, 40 hours per week
Working Monday to Sunday on a full shift rotation
Fixed Term for 12 months
Registrar-level (Tier 2) rota.
1:8 on-call frequency.
Includes:
Day shifts
Twilight shifts
Long days
Night shifts

Has previous NHS paediatric experience.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Providing acute paediatric and neonatal care as part of the Tier 2 (registrar-level) team at Yeovil District Hospital
Assessing, investigating and managing children who present with acute illnesses and emergencies, including referrals from the Emergency Department and out-of-hours services.
Participating in daily consultant-led ward rounds and contributing to the ongoing care of children admitted to the paediatric ward and Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
Undertaking safeguarding work for children and young people, with appropriate supervision and support from senior colleagues
Taking part in a 1:8 full-shift registrar rota, including normal days, twilight shifts, long days, weekends and night shifts, with prospective cover arrangements.
Contributing to the teaching and supervision of junior doctors, medical students and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Engaging in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and research activities to support service development and patient safety.
