Job Overview
The Final Assembly Operative is responsible for the final preparation, assembly and inspection of stillages and material handling equipment prior to dispatch. This role ensures all products are completed to the required quality standards by fitting components such as dunnage, castors and labels, carrying out final quality checks, and preparing finished products for delivery. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, take pride in producing high-quality work, and play a key role in ensuring customer requirements are met and products are delivered right first time
Duties
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete the final assembly and finishing of stillages and material handling equipment.
- Fit dunnage, castors, labels and other components in accordance with production requirements and customer specifications.
- Carry out final quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
- Check for defects, missing components, damage or non-conformances and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure all products are correctly labelled and prepared for dispatch.
- Follow engineering drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work where required.
- Support packing, loading and dispatch activities as needed.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the work area.
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality and warehouse teams to achieve operational targets.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and productivity.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the manufacturing operation.
- Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology is desirable
- Basic understanding of assembly procedures within an electronics or manufacturing environment
- Mechanical knowledge or previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production requirements
