Braintree Area Foodbank is committed to ensuring that no one in our community has to go hungry. We provide emergency food and support to individuals and families in crisis while working towards long-term solutions to food poverty. Over the past few years, we have shifted our emphasis more towards in-depth support for our clients, helping them to maximise their incomes and create the conditions for them to thrive.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive and driven Fundraising Manager to develop and grow a diverse range of income streams.
You will take ownership of fundraising across multiple areas including corporate partnerships, community fundraising, and individual giving. Working closely with the leadership team and trustees, you will play a key role in strengthening relationships with local businesses and the wider community to help meet our annual income needs (currently c. £250,000+).
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on delivery, and who is motivated by building relationships and making a tangible impact locally.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Fundraising
· Develop and implement a strategy to raise funds from companies (nationwide or local).
· Research corporate fundraising opportunities and develop a pipeline of prospects.
· Approach new businesses to financially support us through presentations, pitches and proposals.
· Grow and promote payroll giving and workplace fundraising schemes.
Community Fundraising
· Develop and implement a strategy to raise funds from community groups, churches, schools and individuals, including events, campaigns and supporter led activity.
· Provide guidance, resources and encouragement to community fundraisers to help maximise their fundraising efforts.
· Manage team of “foodbank champions”, who are able to support with giving talks etc.
Individual Giving
· Develop and implement a strategy to increase our regular donors (standing orders etc)
Relationship Development
· Build and develop relationships with all partners in order to build strong, long-term bonds, ensuring good communication and recognition of their support.
Grant Funding
· Support the Charity Manager, when required, with grant fund applications.
Marketing & Communications
· Develop and implement a marketing strategy to support all areas of your fundraising work.
· Liaise with PR volunteer for assistance regarding current social media, mailing lists etc.
Monitoring, Reporting & Administration
· Track income and activity against agreed targets.
· Maintain accurate records of forecast income and fundraising activity.
· Provide updates and reports when required.
· Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR and internal policies.
General
· You will be expected to participate in a staff appraisal scheme for yourself and staff you may manage.
· Support and supervise volunteers as and when required.
· Attend events and fundraising activities as required to represent Braintree Area Foodbank, including occasional working outside of normal hours, including some evenings or weekends.
· Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
· We will carry out a standard DBS check for this role.

· Induction on commencement of role.
· IT system training for Trussell Trust data program as required.

Person Specification
Essential
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders
· Experience in fundraising, partnerships, sales, or business development
· Confidence in approaching organisations and individuals to secure financial support
· Experience of achieving income targets or contributing to income growth
· Ability to develop and deliver plans independently, managing a varied workload
· Good organisational and time management skills
· Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
· Ability to represent the charity professionally and act as an ambassador in the community
· Commitment to the values and mission of Braintree Area Foodbank
· Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small team whilst also working independently
· Strong IT skills (Office, Canva, Email Platforms etc)
Desirable
· Experience of corporate partnerships, community fundraising
· Experience of securing funding, sponsorship, or donations
· Experience of marketing and marketing campaigns
· Knowledge of payroll giving or workplace fundraising
· Understanding of local business or community networks
· Experience using data or CRM systems to track activity and income
· Understanding of fundraising regulations and GDPR
· Awareness of issues relating to food poverty and social inequality
· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
· Previous experience in the charity sector
