We are an established and growing MEP contractor looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Projects team based in Chadderton, Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased estimator who is confident pricing projects ranging from £50k to £10m. You will play a key role in securing profitable new business across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and refurbishment sectors.
About the Role
As an Estimator you will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and competitive HVAC and Plumbing estimates from initial enquiry through to final tender submission. You will work closely with the commercial and project delivery teams to ensure tenders are robust and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, specifications, drawings and site information
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates (with exposure to electrical/plumbing elements)
- Obtain and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Attend site visits and client meetings as required
- Undertake value engineering and risk/opportunity analysis
- Produce tender reports and handover documentation to successful project teams
- Maintain and develop estimating databases and pricing libraries
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the MEP sector
- Strong mechanical bias with solid understanding of mechanical installations
- Experience pricing projects up to £10m (smaller projects also welcomed)
- Site experience is highly advantageous but not essential
- Eperience of estimating software
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
