With over 50 years of combined industry experience behind the brand, the business has grown from a single 28-cover tearoom into a thriving multi-site operation, including flagship and destination venues in Maldon, Wickham Bishops and Coggeshall.
The group specialises in high-quality, freshly prepared food with a strong focus on breakfast, lunch and traditional afternoon tea, complemented by seasonal menus, events and bistro-style evenings.
The job
As Sous Chef you will be a crucial member in the flagship restaurant based in Maldon, working alongside the team to help prepare breakfast and lunch dishes and preparing food for the day ahead.
You'll serve up to 500 covers a day, overseeing food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality standards are met. You'll maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations, supervise kitchen staff and manage team dynamics to enhance productivity and efficiency, and collaborate with team members to streamline food production and service.
What you'll need
At least two years experience in a similar role
Unflustered in a busy kitchen and can crack on and deliver great quality food.
Weekend availability
Some degree of flexibility to cover holidays
A great level of cleanliness and hygiene

The tearoom is located in Maldon, Essex
What you'll receive
£30,000 per annum salary
Share of service charge & gratuities, averaging £2-£3 per hour (£4-6k per annum)
40 hours per week over 5 days including 1 weekend day
Mainly daytime shifts with a an evening every other week for special events
Paid lunch breaks with meals and drinks
