We are a family run, 5th generation Garden Centre. Our Lifestyle Department consists of gifts, fragrances, clothing, toys and more!
We are looking for an experienced and hard working candidate who will keep our shop floor looking it's best with seasonal displays showcasing well stocked products with correct pricing and signage. Also supporting the team members within the department, ensuring they are fully trained, well supported and working to the same high standard.
This is a full time role and includes alternate weekends.
Job Title: Team Leader – Lifestyle Reports To: Leisure Manager
Job Purpose
To help ensure the Lifestyle Department works as one team, supporting the team, implementing and maintaining high standards of display, managing stock, providing the best customer service and driving sales.
Role Responsibilities
· Manage product displays and ensure they are kept to a high standard.
· Proactively maintain stock levels, ensuring products are well stocked and that low stocked items are replenished to the agreed acceptable level immediately.
· Prompt in arranging POS, ensuring the correct information, pricing and promotions are displayed.
· Takes pride in department, ensuring it is kept clean and tidy including floors and product display.
· Lead by example by always offering excellent customer service, ensuring all interactions are professional and positive.
· Act as the escalation point for customer complaints and queries.
· Complete and comply with all training, including health and safety training.
· Ensure health and safety processes and checks are completed and recorded via Southalls.
· Broaden and maintain knowledge relevant to department and products.
· Assist with training team to ensure company processes are adhered to and standards are met.
· Prioritising your own and your teams’ tasks on a daily and weekly basis. Making sure that all tasks that are set are completed in the appropriate timeframe.
· Managing the team’s timekeeping & break times, ensuring that staff are punctual.
· Build a good working relationship with all departments, to ensure stock levels are maintained and replenished efficiently to the highest of standards.
· Proactively provide feedback to the Manager about product popularity and product placement.
· Work with the Manager and HR to conduct appraisals/reflections and ensure that return to work interviews are completed after sickness.
· Ensure that the department is maintained to be safe for team and customers and to report hazards or unsafe working practices if seen.
· Be alert to shop lifters and raise concerns with Security or Managers quickly and discretely.
· Promptly answer radio calls for information or customer assistance.
Required qualifications & experience
· GCSE Maths & English to C or equivalent.
· An ability to effectively communicate with team members.
· Experience within a retail industry. (2 years)
· Experience dealing with customers face to face. (2 years)
· Merchandising experience. (2 years)
Preferred qualifications & experience
· Experience working at a Team Leader or Supervisor level.
· People Management experience.

Pay: Up to £14.40 per hour
