About Us
Philby’s is a growing property maintenance and construction company working with estate agents, property managers, landlords and private clients across London.
We specialise in property refurbishments, renovations and maintenance, from individual rooms and kitchens to full property refurbishments.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Multi-Trader to join our team.
We're looking for someone who is confident working on larger refurbishment projects and can turn their hand to a wide range of trades.
The Role
This is a hands-on role primarily focused on property refurbishments, kitchen and bathroom renovations and full or partial property fit-outs.
You will be involved from the initial strip-out through to completion, working alongside other trades where required and taking responsibility for your own work.
We are looking for someone who can confidently take on a job, understand what needs doing and get stuck in.
The ideal candidate will have a broad skillset covering carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical work, plastering, decorating, tiling and general building works.
Key Responsibilities
- Full and partial property refurbishments
- Kitchen rip-outs and installations
- Bathroom rip-outs and installations
- Kitchen and bathroom preparation and finishing
- Carpentry and joinery
- Door fitting and adjustments
- Skirting boards, architraves and mouldings
- Stud work and basic partitioning
- Plasterboarding and making good
- Plastering and patch repairs
- Tiling and grouting
- Flooring installation and repairs
- Basic plumbing works, including pipework, waste, sinks, toilets and radiators
- Basic electrical works and first-fix/second-fix assistance where competent
- Fitting kitchens, units, worktops and associated fixtures
- Bathroom fixtures and fittings
- Painting and decorating
- General building and maintenance works
- Strip-outs and preparation works
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
- Working to deadlines and maintaining a high standard of finish
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a genuine multi-trader with strong refurbishment experience.
You don't need to be a qualified expert in every trade, but you should have a solid working knowledge across several areas and be confident taking on different aspects of a refurbishment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience working on property refurbishments
- Experience with full kitchen and bathroom rip-outs and installations
- Good carpentry skills
- Good basic plumbing skills
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Plastering and plasterboarding experience
- Tiling experience
- Painting and decorating skills
- General building and finishing skills
- Ability to read and understand what is required from a job
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
We're looking for someone who is practical, experienced and willing to get stuck into whatever needs doing to complete a refurbishment to a high standard.
