Trainee/Qualified Dental Nurse (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Trainee or Qualified Dental Nurse to join our team. This position is expected to start in September to provide maternity leave cover. While the role is initially offered on a fixed-term basis, there is the potential for it to become a permanent position for the right candidate as our practice continues to grow.

The Role
As a Dental Nurse, you will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care while supporting our dentists during a wide range of treatments. You'll help create a positive experience for every patient and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures with professionalism and efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms before and after appointments.
- Clean, sterilise, and organise instruments in accordance with infection prevention and cross-infection control protocols.
- Deliver outstanding patient care, ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their visit.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the practice management system.
- Ensure compliance with GDC, CQC, and health and safety regulations.
- Support reception and administrative duties when required.
- Provide patients with clear post-treatment instructions and oral health advice.
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming practice environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Dental Nurse registered with the General Dental Council (GDC), or currently enrolled on a recognised Dental Nurse training course.
- Friendly, compassionate, and passionate about delivering excellent patient care.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage a busy workload.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using IT systems and dental practice software.
- A positive team player who is eager to learn and contribute to a supportive working environment.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of infection control, health and safety, and patient confidentiality.
