Job Overview
We are seeking 3 talented and experienced Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team, The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent leadership skills, and a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase creativity, oversee daily kitchen operations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. We are a busy country pub and restaurant set in the beautiful village of Foxton, attracting visitors from the Foxton Locks and surrounding tourist destinations.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
- Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent quality of food
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold high standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with team management capabilities
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Experience in menu development and innovation
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable; hospitality background is advantageous
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service through outstanding culinary experiences
Pay: £12.85-£20.00 per hour
