Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring a smooth operation during service hours. Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
- Support the organisation of stock and ingredients within the kitchen
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Help with setting up and clearing down workstations before and after service shifts
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary environments is a plus
- Experience working in hospitality or serving roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service standards
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food hygiene standards
- Good organisational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
