Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Joiner/Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of on site Fitting such as installing fire doors and any bespoke joinery that is made in our in house workshop. You will need to follow all on site health and safety requirements and also you will need to be able to work of drawing, plans and specification's. The successful candidate would be working from our Hull depot, but could be asked to travel to various sites outside hull.
There would be various work tasks involved in the role.
This would include construction sites, hospitals, schools , public buildings, care homes and various other maintenance environments.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools to create bespoke joinery pieces and structural components.
- Install cabinetry, doors, windows, flooring, roofing structures, and other wooden fixtures on-site with precision.
- Perform fabrication tasks in the workshop to produce custom components according to project specifications.
- Conduct heavy lifting safely when handling large or bulky materials during construction or installation phases.
- Assist with construction painting, finishing work, and touch-ups to ensure a polished final appearance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time, adhering to safety standards and quality expectations.
- An ability to measure and advise on joinery requirements.
- First and second fix joinery
- Door set and door hanging, including fire doors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Skilled in operating power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and routers safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques for woodwork and joinery assembly processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during material handling and installation tasks.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, electrical systems or related trades is a plus but not mandatory.
