Ashbridge Independent School and Nursery are looking for a reliable, skilled painter and decorator to carry out high-quality painting and decorating work across multiple educational sites, ensuring all areas are completed to a professional standard while working safely and efficiently during out-of-hours periods to minimise disruption to staff and pupils. The role involves working independently and as a lone worker for significant periods, requiring a high level of self-motivation, responsibility and adherence to health and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing them
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas from paint splatter
- Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fillers
- Use ladders or scaffolding to reach high areas for painting
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear while working
Skills:
- Proven experience as a painter or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques and tools
- Familiarity with different types of paint and finishes
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Good communication skills to understand project requirements and collaborate with team members
Working Week: Monday-Thursday 18.00-04.00
Candidates must be able to get to all 4 sites across the Preston area.

This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
