We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Beauty Technician, to become a key member of our Study Skills department.
We are seeking a confident and motivated technician that can help and support learners to develop their Beauty qualification along with supporting with English and Maths. Alongside this role, offer 1 to 1 tutorial support and be a support to our young people. You will work with other tutors to raise the learning and attainment of young people, while promoting their social inclusion, self-esteem and independence. You will get the opportunity to support students in the Beauty vocational areas of the college and ensure all students are provided with the most appropriate level of support to assist them to access the curriculum, participate in learning and fulfil their potential. You will need to be able to use your own initiative while supportive of learners, dealing with situations with tact and empathy. The need to be flexible in your approach is imperative. We would ideally like you to have experience of working with people with SEND.
At City College Peterborough we have a whole organisation approach to Maths and English provision based upon our commitment to improve the skills of learners by supporting them to achieve GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.
This opportunity would suit either experienced lecturers or graduates with a willingness to undertake the appropriate development.

The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Have a Level 2 Beauty qualification
- Qualified to GSCE Grade C or equivalent - Maths & English
- Monitor and replenish stock and maintenance of the salon
- Establish effective working relationships with young people
- Monitor, support and record learner progress
- Provide innovative and stimulating training
- Work as part of a team to achieve timely results
The position will be working with 14-24 year old Learners
