HGV Class 2 Multi-Drop Driver – Monday to Friday

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our delivery team.
You will be delivering food and drink products to customers across London and other parts of the UK. Routes are planned in advance and include a maximum of around 10-12 drops per day.
You will always work as part of a two-person delivery team alongside a driver’s mate or co-driver, who will support you with unloading, deliveries and customer paperwork.
Our fleet mainly consists of 18-tonne rigid vehicles fitted with tail lifts.
What You Will Do on a Typical Day
At the beginning of your shift, you will complete a full vehicle walk-around check and report any defects or safety concerns to the line manager before leaving the depot.
You will then carry out palletised multi-drop deliveries of food and drink to shops and businesses across London or elsewhere in the UK. You will always work with a driver’s mate or co-driver to unload goods safely using the tail lift, check deliveries and obtain proof of delivery.
You will communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner and follow the payment instructions provided by the company. Some customers may pay by cash, which must be handled responsibly and returned safely to the depot at the end of the working day.
You will also be responsible for completing tachograph records correctly and following all drivers’ hours, rest break, vehicle weight and road safety regulations.
Full training will be provided on our vehicles, routes, paperwork, payment procedures and company processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Carrying out palletised food and drink deliveries
- Completing a maximum of around 10-12 drops per day
- Driving 18-tonne
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks
- Reporting vehicle defects to the line manager
- Loading and unloading goods using a tail lift
- Working with a driver’s mate or co-driver on every route
- Checking goods against delivery paperwork for any missing items or mistakes and noting these down on invoice
- Obtaining customer signatures and proof of delivery
- Handling cash payments when required
- Returning cash and paperwork safely to the depot
- Completing tachograph records correctly
- Following drivers’ hours and rest break rules
- Keeping the vehicle clean, safe and secure
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
What We Are Looking For
- Valid Category C / Class 2 driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC card
- Valid Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence
- Confidence driving 18-tonne
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and road safety regulations
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Positive and professional attitude
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable handling cash when required
- Able to work well as part of a two-person delivery team
- Flexible with finishing times depending on the route and traffic
Previous multi-drop or food and drink delivery experience would be helpful, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
