VETERINARY REFERRAL RECEPTIONIST
This position is suitable for someone that is flexible, communicates well and enjoys working as part of a team.
Working Hours: 31 hours per week. Monday to Friday – varying shifts including:
- Monday 8am-6.30pm with an hour for lunch
- Tuesday 8am-1pm
- Thursday 8am-6.30pm with an hour for lunch
- Friday 8am-1pm
- Every other Saturday 8am-12 noon.
Additional shifts are required to cover staff annual leave etc.
Place of work: Christchurch Veterinary Referrals. Tuddenham Road Business Centre. IP4 3QN
You report to the Practice Manager & Head Nurse and work collaboratively with other team members, clients and colleagues to meet the needs of patients and their owners.
This is a varied role and involves the following:
- Liaising directly with other Veterinary Surgeons to arrange patient referrals
- Liaise directly with clients and arranging referral appointments
- Discussing financial matters and insurance with clients
- Meeting and greeting patients and their owners
- Answering telephone calls
- Updating client records
- Using a veterinary database
- Communicating with clients via our PetsApp
- Scanning documents
- Dealing with enquiries from clients
- Processing payments and cashing up at the end of day
- Some house-keeping duties e.g. loading the dishwasher, sweeping and mopping floors when required
The ideal candidate will have :
- A proactive attitude
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to communicate to a high standard with referring vets and colleagues
- The ability to work under pressure
- Professional approach to work
- Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills – Microsoft (Outlook, Word and Excel).
