Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our onsite maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, and maintaining various mechanical components etc using a range of tools including turning and machining if required . This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in general mechanical repairs, particularly pump, gearbox and general conveyor repairs. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a dynamic industrial environment. Overtime will be available during shutdown and mechanical breakdown periods
Duties
- Use hand tools, power tools, and general machining and turning equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of conveyors and general factory parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Inspection and repair of general mechanical systems, ensuring proper alignment and fit of components.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and optimise production processes.
- Support ongoing maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment as required.
Skills
- Proficiency in Mechanical Fitting and Turning .
- Experience with hand tools, power tools etc.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to maintain general production machines , conveyors etc
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills.
