About the Role
Are you an experienced Senior Civils Design Engineer looking for your next challenge?
Robert E Fry & Associates, part of the respected Jomas Associates Group, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civils Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this key role, you will lead civil engineering design solutions with a strong focus on highways and drainage for residential development projects, taking ownership of designs from initial site appraisal through to final approval.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete detailed civils designs independently, including highways, external levels, and plot drainage for residential developments.
- Conduct thorough site appraisals, drainage feasibility studies, and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs).
- Prepare, submit, and manage statutory approval processes, specifically Section 38 (Highways) and Section 104 (Water Industry Act) agreements.
- Liaise directly with approval bodies, including Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA) in England and Sustainable Drainage Approval Bodies (SAB) in Wales.
- Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met promptly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ design office experience within civil engineering, with a proven track record in residential schemes.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Causeway PDS, and Causeway Flow design software.
- Statutory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of S38 & S104 submission processes, as well as LLFA (England) and SAB (Wales) regulatory frameworks.
- Autonomy: Strong ability to manage your workload and complete complex technical designs independently.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, client liaison, and regulatory approvals.
