As a Healthcare Assistant, you will join our valued team at Livingstone Community Hospital, helping to deliver high-quality care and support to patients in a friendly and supportive inpatient environment. We currently have two opportunities available:

1 x Full-Time Healthcare Assistant
-
1 x Part-Time Healthcare Assistant (30 hours per week)
Appointments may be made at either Band 2 or Band 3 level depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care. You will assist patients with their day-to-day care needs and support their rehabilitation, helping them regain confidence and independence during their stay. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families, making a genuine difference to their experience and recovery. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting patients with personal care and activities of daily living

Assisting with patient observations and reporting changes in condition to registered staff

Supporting mobility, rehabilitation and independence
-
Maintaining patient dignity, privacy and wellbeing at all times
-
Assisting with nutritional support and hydration
-
Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting information appropriately
-
Contributing to a safe, clean and welcoming ward environment

Working collaboratively with nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals
Band 3 Healthcare Assistants may also undertake additional delegated clinical duties following appropriate training, competency assessment and supervision.

Previous experience within a healthcare, care or support setting

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification

Experience supporting patients with rehabilitation or long-term health needs

Understanding of person-centred care principles
