We are a friendly, family-run business looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Cleaner and Maintenance Operative to support the general upkeep of our premises.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is comfortable working outdoors, and can help keep our yard and surrounding areas clean, tidy, safe, and well maintained.
## The role
The role will involve cleaning and maintaining the yard, looking after grassed areas, carrying out basic painting work, and helping ensure the site remains presentable and free from hazards.
This is a hands-on position and would suit someone who is dependable, physically capable, and willing to get stuck in with a variety of outdoor and general maintenance tasks.
## Main responsibilities
Sweeping and cleaning yard areas
Collecting and disposing of rubbish and packaging
Keeping walkways and access routes clear
Emptying bins and separating waste where required
Cleaning around skips, loading areas, and storage spaces
Removing debris and potential trip hazards
Cutting grass and maintaining grassed areas
Trimming edges and keeping outdoor areas neat and presentable
Carrying out basic painting and touch-up work around the premises
Preparing surfaces before painting where required
Helping keep outdoor stock and equipment organised
Reporting any damage, spillages, or safety concerns
Assisting with other general cleaning and maintenance duties when required
Following health and safety procedures at all times
## What we are looking for
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Able to work independently and manage daily tasks
Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
Good attention to detail
Willingness to carry out physical work
Basic experience with grass cutting, gardening, painting, or general maintenance is preferred
Previous cleaning, yard, warehouse, or labouring experience is helpful but not essential
Positive attitude and willingness to help the wider team
## Contractor information
This is a contractor-based role
Working hours and rate will be agreed before starting
Flexibility may be required during busy periods
Ongoing work may be available for the right person
