Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Driver to join our team and deliver exceptional service across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to proper securing procedures for flatbed deliveries
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all trips undertaken
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered on the road
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Qualifications
- Valid HGV driving license with relevant classifications for commercial driving
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar freight handling experience
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely
- Good navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
