Job Overview
We are seeking someone who is passionate for serving food; specifically traditional pub classics and able to work calmly in a busy pub environment. Serving buffets/2 & 3 courses and 3 course over festive periods is also a must. We are a family run business and pride ourselves in running small but friendly teams across both our sites; we are looking for a chef who would love to be apart of this team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership and self motivation, communication and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment effectively. Also mid week/during the quieter days to be able to work solo with the full support and communication of FOH. The Chef will play a pivotal role in shaping the menu, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Run all aspects of the kitchen
- Oversee food production from preparation to presentation, maintaining high-quality standards
- Be able to create and serve a traditional pub menu, offering a lunch and dinner service with all the pub classics alongside a Sunday lunch menu each week
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control wastage to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen at all times
Requirements
- Proven supervising/managing experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous pub setting experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Strong understanding of food production processes and quality control measures
- Experience in menu development and food presentation
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Be able to work split shifts
- To provide own knifes & uniform
- Have had training in food allergens
- Have Food Safety Level 2 (minimum)
- The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on operator who thrives in a busy environment

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
