About the role:
We have a vacancy for Street Cleansing Operative at our operational depot in Bury St Edmunds.
Your main duties will include:
- Street cleansing
- Dog and litter bin emptying
- Clearance of fly tipping
- Supporting markets
- General maintenance of the public amenities across the West Suffolk area
The role is based on 37 hours each week, on a four-day basis (Wednesday to Saturday). The hours for this role are as below (excluding breaks):
- Wednesday: 11 hours
- Thursday: 7.5 hours
- Friday: 7.5 hours
- Saturday: 11 hours
What you will need:
- You will need to be physically fit as this role requires a great deal of walking and physical mobility, lifting and stretching.
- You will need to be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- You will be able to demonstrate a positive approach to health and safety.
- You will be flexible with a strong customer focus and be able to demonstrate a desire to deliver high standards of service.
- You will be computer literate and be able to operate ‘in cab’ and ‘handheld’ technology and other in-house systems as appropriate.
- You will hold a minimum Class B (car) driving licence and have your own transport.
- Experience of driving 3.5t vehicles and either 7.5t driving or trailer towing licence categories and DCPC card would be an advantage.
