Marcegaglia Stainless Sheffield is recruiting for a Shift Analyst for our Analytical Laboratory. This is a shift-based role, where you will be working on a rota covering 12 hour day and night shifts across a 40-hour week and in return you will receive a competitive salary plus shift allowance with the opportunity for a salary increase upon completion of your training.
Duties:
- Working safely in accordance with defined methods and within Marcegaglia’s safety culture and rules.
- Preparation of samples for analytical testing.
- Testing of metals and slags using OES and XRF
- Radioactivity testing of metals and slags using gamma-ray spectrometers
- Equipment standardisation, maintenance and basic fault-finding
Experience:
- Have a minimum of 5 subjects at GCSE grade C or above including English and Mathematics. Full training will be provided.
- Be willing to work flexibly as an individual and as part of a small team
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Accurate numeracy skills are essential
- Be able to demonstrate an awareness of health and safety at work
- Take a methodical approach to standardised tasks.
