Kiln is a vibrant cafe, restaurant and cocktail bar based in the heart of Ouseburn, Newcastle. Home to a renowned ceramics studio and a fast-growing reputation for exceptional hospitality, Kiln blends creativity with craft across food, drink and design.
We’re looking for a confident, creative and experienced cocktail bartender to join our team. This is a key role within our front-of-house operation – someone who can confidently deliver outstanding drinks service, primarily during evening and weekend shifts.
About You:
- You’re confident behind the bar and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- You have a strong foundation in cocktail making – including classic recipes, house specs and ideally experience with batching and flavour infusions.
- You’re personable, reliable and great with guests – you understand how to create a welcoming and elevated experience without taking yourself too seriously.
- You enjoy working as part of a tight-knit team and take pride in the details.
Bonus Skills (not essential but very welcome):
- Coffee experience or barista training – this would allow for occasional day shifts and greater rota flexibility.
- An interest in drink development or creative input into seasonal menus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve cocktails to spec with consistency, speed and flair.
- Work closely with the Bar Supervisor on prep, batching, garnishes and maintaining high standards.
- Deliver outstanding guest experience – warm, attentive and knowledgeable.
- Keep the bar clean, organised and well-stocked at all times.
- Follow all licensing, health & safety and hygiene standards.
- Be an active and positive presence in service, contributing to the overall energy of the venue.
