Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. This role involves handling a variety of warehouse tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of stock management, shipping, and receiving processes. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining an organised and efficient warehouse environment, supporting the overall supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Stock shelves accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper organisation of materials
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and update records
- Pick and pack orders with attention to detail to ensure correct items are shipped
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the warehouse
- Utilise mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support materials handling tasks, including moving heavy or bulky items safely
- Use AS400 systems for inventory management and order processing as required
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or related fields such as construction or materials handling
- Competence in operating forklifts and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes
- Knowledge of stock control procedures and inventory management tools like AS400
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks
