Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a growing independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Penrith, Cumbria.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant, Semi Senior Accountant or AAT qualified professional looking to progress their career within a supportive practice environment.
The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, gaining valuable experience across accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client support.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Assisting with personal tax return preparation and tax compliance work.
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping and accounting queries.
- Maintaining accurate records and working papers.
- Using accounting software to manage client information and complete assignments efficiently.
- Communicating directly with clients and providing day-to-day accounting support.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- AAT qualification, ACA / ACCA part-qualified status, or qualified by experience.
- Experience preparing accounts and supporting tax compliance work.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
- A proactive attitude and desire to develop within a growing firm.
