Admiral Welding Ltd is looking for an experienced Architectural Metalwork Fabricator/Welder to join our workshop team.
The successful candidate will manufacture high-quality architectural and secondary steelwork from fabrication drawings. Typical products will include staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails, railings, gates, canopies and other bespoke metalwork.
This position requires someone who can work accurately, take pride in the quality of their work and complete fabrication tasks with minimal supervision.
Main responsibilities
- Read and accurately interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Fabricate architectural metalwork from mild steel and other specified materials.
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, prepare and assemble steel components.
- Carry out high-quality MIG welding.
- Produce accurate, square and dimensionally correct fabrications.
- Use workshop machinery, power tools and hand tools safely.
- Check completed work against drawings and quality requirements.
- Identify and report drawing discrepancies or fabrication issues.
- Prepare completed items for galvanising, powder coating or painting.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Follow company quality, health and safety procedures.
- Work with the Fabrication Manager to meet production deadlines.
- Assist with site installation work when required.
Essential experience and skills
- Proven experience as an architectural metalwork fabricator/welder.
- Ability to work independently from detailed fabrication drawings.
- Competent MIG welding skills.
- Experience fabricating staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails, railings or similar architectural metalwork.
- Good measuring, marking-out and assembly skills.
- Ability to produce accurate work to the required tolerances.
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Desirable experience
- Relevant fabrication or welding qualifications.
- Experience working within an EN 1090 or ISO 9001 quality-controlled environment.
- Experience with stainless steel or TIG welding.
- Experience installing architectural metalwork on construction sites.
- CSCS card, IPAF, PASMA or other relevant site qualifications.
- Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
