Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial van to pick up and deliver packages across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Load and unload packages, often requiring heavy lifting and proper handling to prevent damage
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure the van remains in optimal condition
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and receipts for all shipments processed
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns with enthusiasm and clarity
Experience
- Proven delivery driver experience, preferably if not then also fine
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating commercial vehicles
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics processes is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of loading or unloading packages
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation tools to optimize delivery routes
