Current Opportunity: Assistant Information Manager
Location:
Based at Fort Dunlop – this location sits on the eastern edge of Birmingham, adjacent to the M6 motorway, providing excellent transport links into the city and across the region. Fort Dunlop serves as a key hub within IPT Area North, supporting operations that span multiple sublots and regional activities. Its strategic position makes it an important point for coordination and access, with proximity to major infrastructure routes ensuring connectivity to both the Central Region and wider project areas.
Role description:
Responsible for assisting the Information Manager and Principal Information Manager in the following areas:
- In ensuring compliance of the Project with HS2 Information Management specifications, including compliance with ISO 19650.
- In ensuring compliance of the delivery and integration teams and supply chain members with Information Management Plan, BIM Execution Plan, GIS Management Plan, Data Quality Plan and other related processes outlining Project’s standards for the production, storage and management of information across the Project.
- In ensuring appropriate use of CDE systems by the delivery and integration teams and supply chain members based upon the above-mentioned requirements and processes.
- In ensuring the Document Control team’s compliance with the Project’s standards and processes.
- In assurance of quality of used, produced and issued information including verification of incoming information.
- In compliance of the Project’s MIDP (Master Information Delivery Plan) and associated TIDPs (Task Information Delivery Plans) and MPDTs (Model Production Delivery Tables) with HS2 Information Management specifications and associated BBV’s processes.
- In compliance of the delivery and integration teams and supply chain members with the Project’s MIDP and associated TIDPs and MPDTs.
- In ensuring the CDE training needs of the project team are assessed and met on and ongoing basis. Training and developing staff during onboarding, on regular and ad-hoc basis. This will include both BBV and, where appropriate, its supply chain members.
- In ensuring the Project coding structure is used in delivery of the Project by the delivery and integration teams and supply chain members.
- In monitoring efficiency of Information Management by delivery and integration teams and supply chain members and recommending optimisation of the current Project processes, where appropriate, whilst complying with HS2 specifications.
Formal Education & Certification
- A relevant degree or equivalent is essential – BEng from a reputed institute or equivalent.
- Working towards a relevant professional qualification, e.g. CEng, is desirable.
- ITIL V3 foundation is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
- Considerable experience of working in a global team as part of a multinational organisation is essential.
- Knowledge of computer aided engineering tools and methodology, management and configuration of CDE and associated information management platforms is essential - both for graphical and non-graphical information.
- Some experience of Power BI is essential.
- Knowledge and some experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its importance to engineering infrastructure is essential.
- Knowledge of Autodesk (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit) and Bentley Systems (e.g. MicroStation, AECOsim and iTwin) software and their interaction with Bentley ProjectWise/ other prime engineering project collaboration software are desirable.
- Knowledge of architecture and functionality of other relevant IT applications and experience of Asset Information Systems is desirable.
- Awareness of creation of powershell scripts for use with ProjectWise is desirable.
- Experience in relational databases (Oracle and SQL) is desirable.
- Experience of IT service management processes is desirable.
- Experience of analysing and documenting complex business processes is desirable.
- Other IT administrator experience desirable, but not essential, including Windows Server, Active Directory.-cloud based infra, saas.
